Composition, arrangement and traditional music
Margo Jacquart is a multifaceted artist: pianist, composer, singer, and improviser. Introduced to the piano at the age of six, she began composing and improvising by twelve, quickly developing a personal musical voice. At eighteen, her encounter with the jazz and composition departments at the Conservatory marked a decisive turning point. There, she explored contemporary writing and improvisation, which led to the release of her first two singles: "The Phoenix" and "Floods and Clover", blending jazz, pop, and poetic expression.
Her artistic path is deeply rooted in world music traditions. She spent a year living on Réunion Island, where she discovered Creole and the traditional music Maloya with major cultural figures such as Danyel Waro and Firmin Viry. She later traveled to Greece, discovered rebetiko, and regularly performs there in intimate settings.
A passionate explorer of hybrid forms, Margo enjoys building bridges between genres. For her final degree project Wanderlied, she arranged lieder by Schumann, Schubert, and Strauss for classical voice and jazz ensemble (double bass, piano, saxophone, and drums), crafting a sound that is both respectful of tradition and boldly reimagined.
